If I was a juror, my assessment of the credibility of witnesses would be dramatically changed if I found out they lied about material facts (even though those facts were not brought up by the State).

Too bad the jury is only getting half the facts.

ok.. I'm a day late and a dollar short, but here's my two cents on the whole marriage thing...

how many FLDS marriages end in divorce? (a % is fine)

These FLDS men (regardless of the # or ages of their wives) seem to take care of their children, provide for them and their mothers, and I haven't really seen statistics on women who leave the lifestyle and then claim assistance...

I cannot say the same of the general population of our great nation.

Plural relationships certainly aren't for me, a fact I will freely admit.. It doesn't mean I'm permitted to judge that it works for someone else.

Like many posters, it concerns me that a lot of these girls are under-age. However, as it was recently pointed out to me, just because they are betrothed, doesn't mean they've consummated the relationship.

There was a story in the news a few weeks ago about arranged marriages in India and about how some infants are betrothed/married as toddlers but don't consummate their relationships until adulthood when they begin residing together.

Yes- kidnapped children, sane exams, 26 adult/children, religion, constitution, nursing babies, rozita are all irrelevant because it debases her attitude of "this is Texas, and we're gonna put the hurt on you-man, woman and child. Never mind that we're guilty of the same things."

Someone sent me this text. I thought you would enjoy it.

The Power of the Badge.
DEA officer stops at a ranch in Texas, and talks with an old rancher. He tells the rancher, "I need to inspect your ranch for illegally grown drugs." The rancher says, "Okay, but do not go in that field over there," as he points out the location. The DEA officer verbally explodes saying, "Mister, I have the authority of the Federal Government with me." Reaching into his rear pants pocket, he removes his badge and proudly displays it to the rancher. "See this badge? This badge means I am allowed to go wherever I wish.... On any land. No questions asked. Have I made myself clear? Do you understand?" The rancher nods politely, apologizes, and goes about his chores. A short time later, the old rancher hears loud screams and sees the DEA officer running for his life chased by the ranchers big Santa Gertrudis bull.......... With every step the bull is gaining ground on the officer, and it seems likely that he'll get gored at any moment. The rancher yells to the officer, "Show him your badge!"
