4. When you really think about it, no school district in the Country would have dreamed of doing something like this 20, 30 or 40 years ago. Not even if they had the technology.

   We’re in a different time and place, and living in a police state.

5. Kinda funny how most teachers think that the actions of “those teachers ” is outrageous. The administration tried to explain away the actions of the teachers. The teachers involved tried to explain away their own actions. We sure have a concentration of teachers and school officials in a very concentrated area of one city and one state that missed their government class.

   Looks like the teachers union and all those other good teachers are now distanceing themselves from such a concentration of misguided peers.
   If you detect a tone of sarcasm you may go to the head of the class.

9. This also reminds me of Nazi Germany. I was taught in school that the Nazis tricked German kids into turning in their parents by asking them if they ever heard the British air waves at home. If the kids said yes, the parents got in big trouble.

10. We will be looking forward to hearing that the images were “Never” recorded on a central data base, or, that the monitoring equipment “Malfunctioned” and no images are available to investigators.

    Like everything else in computerland, the entire system needs to be sent to Microsoft so that they can tell you precisely what was recorded, when, for how long, who downloaded it to where and supply the investigators with a copy.

    Apple probably won’t cooperate because if there’s a few thousands pictures and videos out there of kids in their Birthday suits, Apple becomes an accomplice to Invasion of Privacy and the production of KP as an accomplice.

    I understand that the latest rage is to charge people as an accomplice for just performing your everyday duties, so there is precedent. Ain’t that right Mark?

11. The school is lying. The IT department is all male. One parent reported that the camera on his daughter’s computer was on at odd times, sometimes for as long as 2 weeks. Makes you wonder what those pervs were really after.

12. There is a slight possibility that their intentions were noble, but when the principle reprimands a student for doing something wrong at home- if I was that kids parents, I would tell that principle to kiss my ass (then have a talk with Johnny), IMO.

23. Duaneh made prediction. Look at the principals explanation for the intrusion and then roll your eyes.

    Every single teacher has attended 12 years of prep school and four years of College. Every school as well as every college in this country has classes dedicated to teaching government and has more than introduced every teacher to the principle of the sancity of the home and the constitutional guarantees of privacy.

    What class was missed by those teachers and or administrators as they turned on cameras and spied on their students.

    Looks like we have a few more “logistical issues” to explain.

28. This is sick, I wonder how many principals and teachers snapped photos of children naked and/or “touching” themselves. These kids were in their bedrooms alone and would have had no idea they were being watched.

30. Yes, I knew a few years ago about cell phones becoming a microphone. About a decade ago, I worked at a large corp and it was well known all the executives took their cell phone batteries out before important meetings.

    They wouldn’t use this tech to find a 15 year old girl raped and beaten in a basement but they have no problem spying on a kid doing homework?
