  1. “Damned if they do and damned if they dont”. Hindsight is 20-20. Armchair quarterbacking on a tueasday morning.
It all boils down to getting it right 100% of the time where children are concerned. In the case of the Styate of Texas it was a matter of an entire State agency with blinders on and a predetermined effort to ignore every legal State ID and believe every accusation of ex-wives at the expense of the children. In the deaths of other children exposed on this site the explanations for their conditions barely suffice.
The various State systems and procedures are broken Ron. In the case of the State of Texas federal regulators have chastized the State time and time again for mistreatment of mental clients, sexual and economic exploitation of juviniles in detention, and lets not forget about adult prisoners.

When a State is responsible for a human life they have a responsibility to get it right…..in the case of juviniles the responsibility is absolute.
It is my contention that the State operates agencies that cross the line of compasion and in fact add to or multiply the original original problem beyond the initial threat posed by allegedly abusive or neglectful parents and in more cases than ever get reported the kids are harmed by intervention of State employed misfits.

Sorry Ron…… when ya can’t determine the age of a 37yo teen without a tank or roam around looking for a non-existant 16 year old with an army it is just a bit “over the top”. No mistake in the case of the ranch children. The State took a minimum of four days to determine the “logistics” of their combat operations plan.
When State spokespersons so confidently promise investigations into the treatment of the mothers and kids as reported by multiple other State employees and never perform….. it is obscene.

The Texas system is broken Ron and it is broken not because a few unforseen events got in the way of a good intention. The system is broken because the State broke it in the name of economic ineffeciency and and political ineptitude.

Throw in a little religious intolerance and the State juvinile oversite agencies are a weapon.

I get where you’re coming from. The fact that there are “logistical issues” is not what you’d call a valid excuse for what happened.

Well, you’re right. It’s not a valid excuse. However, it still doesn’t change the fact that logistical issues may have prevented them from placing the child with the grandparents.

I know you guys have no use for CPS at all. I can appreciate that. However, I can also appreciate that CPS is sometimes caught in the classic catch-22 - they’re damned if they do, and damned if they don’t.

  5. No venting Ron,,,,,,, No Anger to manage, don’t even have a dog in this fight. Just disgusted with the ability of the various State governments takeing control of peoples lives in the name of “the people” of those various States and then destroying the very people they are responsible for.
There is a fundamental flaw with governments that find it necessary to manage peoples lives, and in this particular case managed tose lives to death.

Bill kind of summed it up and I will let his word stand.

  6. Ron,

I can understand where he is coming from.

They always have a cutesy phrase to explain away a death, a rape, abuse, neglect and malfeasance.

“Logistical issues” falls in line with “Falling through the cracks”, “In his best interest”, “Clerical errors”, “Missing the signs”, “Nobody told us”.

Anything BUT “We fucked up” or “We’re responsible for his death”.

Can you recall ONE instance when the State has taken full responsibility for a childs death in foster care? Just one?

Honestly, why should I be angry? Whether I agree they are valid or not or whether more should be done to solve them, the fact that there are logistical issues is simply a cold hard fact of reality. The only reason I responded was that you seem to want to shoot the messenger. I don’t create the logistical issues, I’m simply reporting them.

To me, your sarcasm just reveals a lot of inner anger. Obviously you feel the need to vent, so I’ll repeat from a prior comment:

    Rant on.

  8. Wonderful now Ron. I see that you have added a shrink degree to your list of credentials. Could it be that you just don’t like the sarcasm directed at your “logistical issue” analysis.

Not in the least bit angry Ron. It seems that being almost as blunt as Bill might just get under your skin.

I’ll call you on your analysis of this mess just as I have called Bill on his opinion at times.

Bill doesn’t throw a fit Ron….. he even refrains from pouting.

  11. Great Ron….glad to see my words hit a nerve. Ya see Ron your words, just as some of mine, may not directly support LE or the Nazi crowd do come close to the reality of the attitude held by some State supporters.

Since I am a boxers kind of guy I figured a few rounds with the term ” logistical issue” might just make a point, I made it.

    11. ZXC on February 16th, 2010 at 3:37 pm
  12. On a lighter note, the C.S.s are hinting that I’m a “Mole” for the Feds or Texas to infiltrate the FLDS.

My “Cover” is now completely blown.

We had it planned since 1980 to throw me in prison and to kill Christopher Hunter so that I would be able to ingratiate myself to the FLDS 28 years later.

    Or,

Maybe I’m not that Medvecky guy, but a plant put into place with all his information attached to an undercover agent.

Good work you guys, I’m actually the love child of J.Edgar Homo and his girl friend, Clyde Tolson.

    Now, back to reality:

Knowing the Fed’s are looking for a way to infiltrate the FLDS, I told them myself to trust NOBODY who comes along, NOT EVEN ME. I know how LE works, they will eat their own young to further their macho bullshit.

  13. To the poster with the big mouth that was deleted,
there’s a trial coming up for barbie’s 4th victim in March.

Since Abbott was furious at the plea agreement made for Michael Emack, he demands a full blown trial and no “Bargains” being made for Leroy.

Pay very close attention to the impact upon the “Victim” and his children that is presented to the sentencing body.

Naturally, barbie isn’t going to allow the “Victims” any voice, because the “Impact” they will describe doesn’t fit the States agenda.

She will claim the “Jury” isn’t allowed to hear the Impact statement by Law.

Her problem is, the “Jury” is not acting as the “Jury” in their sentencing capacity, they are acting as the Judge.

Denying the statement not only violates the “Victims” rights, but Leroy’s rights.

The intention of the Legislature was to give the “Victim” a voice concerning the sentence imposed, and the Jury is imposing that sentence in this case.

Deny the statement and barbie hands Leroy one more point on Appeal.

  14. Geez ZXC who twisted your figgin panties in a wad?

I certainly no apologist for CPS or the state. You can get as upset about reality as you want. It certainly won’t change it.

    Rant on my friend.

  15. Ok Ron.I’ll buy that. So ya say that the state relys on persons that it considers incompetent to raise a child to provide names of potential guardians. Looks like the State has an out if the drug addict recommends a child rapist.

OK Ron…now I understand. The State is not responsible. Sure, now I get it. So….if the parent is not capable of protecting a child the State gives the kid to someone that has been investigated by the State and is being paid by the State.

No fuss no muss Ron……..the State can stand back and point fingers because it was a “logistical nightmare” to investigate possible placement.

The State and their omnipotent CPS workers had a bit of difficulty with reading birth certificates of 37 year old teenagers or figureing out which virgin was pregnant Ron.

But darn, the State didn’t have much trouble arrangeing busses or lodgeing in an abandoned stable. I guess we now know the logistical capability of the State.

So Ron……..I guess the “logistical issue” of trying to figure out how to find a nonexistant girl and her child has been figured out. Love those “logistical issues” Ron. A few more “logistical issues” and the State might just find Elvis.

I making no excuses or apologizing for anyone. I’m simply explaining the reality of the situation.

In Texas the parents are charged with identifying folks who might be able to take their kids. So, in Texas it would be the parents who would have to give the contact information about any potential grandparent placement.

We can speculate at length about why these kids ended up in foster care as opposed to being placed with a relative. Yeah, bad shit happens in foster care. Bad shit happens everywhere.

  17. True story:

While I was in prison, I had a 180 acre farm with a 13 year old foster child on it that I successfully sued the State of New York for his custody. That success was the reason they wanted me in prison, because they knew I was going back to Court for Christopher.

After being sent to prison, the State tried to take the boy (Ronny Ames) back from my custody. The Judge said no, he would stay in my custody. He Ordered the Albany County Department of Social Services to see to it that Ronny stayed with my wife and to make sure the bills were paid until I returned home.

They had to pay the rent on the farm, feed him and my wife, cloth him, give both full medicaid, pay for my first and second child’s birth, pay all utilities, and pay my wife for transportation and recreation.

Prior to my incarceration, I paid all of those bills out of my own pocket, and the State paid me $1,000.00 a month to take care of all 4 moderately to severely retarded foster children.

The D.A. had the balls to suggest to the Jury at trial that I took in the children for money.

My lawyer at the time calculated that the State had already spent $300,000.00 to send me to prison, and then $25,000.00 a year to keep me there.

That doesn’t include the $28,000.00 they spent a year to keep Ronny on the farm with my wife, or the
$16,000.00 hospital bill for Yvonne, the $22,000.00 hospital bill for Teddy, and both their medical bills until I returned home.

All told, the State of New York spent roughly $750.000.00 to send me to prison for supposedly stealing the records of Christopher Hunter.

I had the EXACT SAME records for Ronald Ames, Jeffrey Dufresne, and Lance Hunter, kept in the normal course of my responsibilities, but the Judge decided that those records were “Irrelevant” to my defense.

    17. Bill on February 15th, 2010 at 11:36 pm
  18. 30 grand a year to keep the guys in jail……..no problem for Texas. Just add a few motorists to the speed traps……….increase fines …….and bingo……………the prison industry keeps chugging along.

  19. Bill,

How much will it cost the state of Texas to imprison the FLDS men for those very lengthy sentences? How much will the extra time in prison that Hildrebran added cost Texas?

50 million dollars spent on a personal Vendetta of persecution is a hefty figure, and it ain’t over yet!

  23. None from ANY State agency was at the funeral. Braxton’s siblings were not allowed to go to the funeral.

Actually, in this case, the State was pretty generous, they allowed the parents and family to bury their child.

Many times, parents are forbidden to attend, or simply not told were they were going to bury the error.

  25. Bet the State has no problem sending what is left of the family a bill for their services Ron. The “logistical issue” of where to send the bill is in some State database………..along with the names of next of kin.

    25. ZXC on February 15th, 2010 at 4:10 pm
  26. Bill says “Never contacted” Ron. What about relatives never contacted is a logistical issue?

Enough excuses Ron………. the State is responsible for the death of the child. The foster murderer that the State put thru a rigerous background check… is an agent of the same State that has a few “logistical issues”.

The logistics are now very easy for the State to figure out Ron. The kid will be in the same box for eternity. Bet the State even knows where the hole is Ron…….no “logistical issue” there.

    26. ZXC on February 15th, 2010 at 4:08 pm
  27. Oh yes.the ever available “logistical issues”. If one State agency doesn’t want to relinquish control of the victim to another state agency it becomes a “logistical issue”. If a State has to go thru the expense of transfering guardienship to another State we have a “logistical issue”. If a CPS or CASA worker can’t read a phone book or is just to lazy to look for qualified relatives we have a “logistical issue.

Golly gee marie.or should I say Ron……… I bet if one of the grandparents or relatives had a traffic ticket the State would overcome all “logistical issues” in order to get the fine paid or jail time served.

Excuses on top of excuses on top of excuses ……whoops……..another “logistical issue.

    27. ZXC on February 15th, 2010 at 3:59 pm
  28. I now want to know where is brothers, Joseph, Brandon and Shane are, and his sister, Brianna.

From what I’m being told, CPS and CASA are threatening the relatives to keep silent about Braxton, or they might never see his siblings again.

Let’s keep in mind; we’re dealing with some mighty disgusting people.

    28. Bill on February 15th, 2010 at 3:02 pm
  29. One of the first stories put out there by CPS and CASA was that the parents gave the baby up for adoption.

According to an Aunt of the boy, this is false, he was TAKEN away from the parents and forced to sign the kid away.

The Grandparents and all relatives were NEVER contacted by CPS or CASA to take the child in. If they had been, they would have.

More coming, this kid isn’t going to be buried and forgotten anytime soon!

    29. Bill on February 15th, 2010 at 2:59 pm
  30. As you’ve noticed, Braxton had extensive family. We intend to find out exactly why Braxton needed so badly to be in foster care that he died for it, and whether or not there was any attempt at keeping him within his family.

Naturally, Braxton no longer exists to CPS and CASA, they want to protect his privacy. (Gag!)

As for Austin, the Court’s keep denying to give Dot any standing as his Grandmother, so we’re filling a “Next Friend” Motion to Intervene.

What CPS and CASA around the Country are now coming to learn is that people no longer just wave goodbye to their children when the goons come knocking.

The taking of a child is going to end up in endless litigation and tie up the Court’s until they are paralyzed.

Naturally, the Motions can be denied, but even that needs to be done legally, or we have leave to another Appeal.

CPS and CASA are taking these children for the all american dollar. When it no longer becomes profitable, they’ll find new ways to deal with children.

People wonder why Austin ordered that the children of the Ranch be returned over the objections of CPS and CASA. The reason had nothing to do with the merits of the case, and everything to do with that 14 million dollar bill that has been frozen in time since May 2008

The last thing Perry wants to see right now is the real price tag of the attack on the Ranch being waved in his face at a campaign rally.

A lot of time kids go into foster care because grandparents live far away and there are lots of logistical issues. Plus, the ideal situation usually is reunification with the parents and if you’ve shipped the kid far away that gets difficult also.

Speaking of grandparents - Bill any news on Austin and his grandparents?

    31. Ron in Houston on February 15th, 2010 at 9:51 am
  32. Why was this child in foster care? There are two sets of grandparents, great grandparents and an aunt listed in the obituary. I am sure some of them would have helped the family.
