SHURTLEFF TO FLDS, GIVE UP YOUR LAND, OR WE TAKE IT.

In a letter to Rod Parker, the Utah A.G. has demanded that the FLDS capitulate to the demands of cousin Brucie within 30 days, or they will lose their lands.

As a further extortion, he threatens to un incorporate the City if they do not give away their land.

The letter did not explain how either action “Protects” the Trust assets for the owners of the land (The FLDS), or what compensation they will receive for what amounts to a “Taking” of their property.

Mark was correct about one thing; this mess he created is going to be ligated for the next 20 years or more in the Federal Court’s. Last time I heard, the Government can’t take someone’s property no matter how much they don’t like the owners religious beliefs.

At minimum, the residents have Squatters Rights to their homes and land, and Federal Law backs them up.

  1. Why does the ranch in Texas look like The “Plat of the City of Zion”. that was made by Joseph Smith? Is the ranch really going to be called the
” Kingdom of Zion”. which means a land where god is to make the 2nd coming on the earth. or means god’s land. or gods people.

  3. The AG is not going to weaken the flds. he is making them stronger. AG is teaching the females and children the truth about the u.s. government. the flds can chage, but not by force of stealing land.

  4. do what they did in ” little house on the prairie” there city was taken from them by force. so they burned and blow up the whole city and buildings. You can ether watch the state of utah steal your land and sell it or blow it up. I say blow it up and make it worthless for the state to own. I would even have the media there to watch thing being blown up. Too show what there media reports, have forced the flds to do.

  6. FLDS should place a law suit against all of texas people in the raid and pay the back cost of the other land owned by FLDS. 250 MILLION sounds good.

  7. Moving to Texas would make about as much sense as waving goodbye to the children would have been. Taking something that isint yours is stealing. Right?

  9. “Empty threat. Shurtleff doesn’t have the authority to dis-incorporate a town. That power lies with the courts or possibly the state legislature.”

But he says he will go to the legislature, and presumably they will make a law just for the FLDS. That seems to be legal nowadays. But he apparently has forgotten that he and the FLDS already came to an agreement, which Wisan derided and the judge refused.

  11. I’ve said it more than once and will say it again…..MOVE TO TEXAS. The ranch is paid for and a few thousand more registered voters in Schleicher county would be a breath of fresh air in the State.

The church could rent property for $1 a year to its members and avoid any attempt at a repeat of land siezure in Texas based on “communal” property.

Need to think “outside the box” to beat the land thieves.

  12. This is similar to the Missouri extermination order, except that Shurtleff intends to exterminate a city instead of its people. Ironic, isn’t it, that a Mormon who tries to appear sensitive to civil rights, who has even written a book about Dred Scott, would recapitulate the persecution of the early Mormons.

  13. What would stop them from reincorporating?
According to BAdams in her latest SLT article, disincorporating requires a petition by 25% of the residents and a majority vote. Fat chance the FLDS residents are going to vote “aye” on dissolution.
So what new law does Shirtleff propose? How about this: “If the population of a community where more than 50% of the residents religious belief is Fundie Mormonism along with clothing themselves in blue jeans, dress shirts, and prairie skirts, such a community shall forever be prohibited from incorporating as a town or city”.
I don’t think a law like this can pass muster in the courts.
