MORE OF THE S.O.S.: PERRY NAMES NEW BUCK PASSER.

With 54,000 “Employee’s” and 30 BILLION to spend annually, the hairball appointed a new Deputy Executive Commisioner to continue to run the Texas Health and Human Services into the ground. It’s already the laughing stock of the Nation, and with a teen birth rate, teen sexually transmitted deseases rate, Food Stamp backlog and a “School System” for mentally retarded children and youth that tops the lists for abuse, neglect and proliferation.

The new dude in Austin is Tom Suehs, and the hairball and him are going to “Fix” the problems being experienced by the Department. Tom’s going to find out why the State is now being sued for not getting more than 40,000 families Food Stamps who a eligible within 30 days of asking for it. He is asking for an “Audit” to tell him how to fix that little problem.

I wonder if the fact that Tom was the Departments Deputy Executive Commisioner of Financial Services for the Department since 2003 has a little something to do with the problem?

I also wonder how the wording in the “Audit” is going to avoid mentioning his minor roll in the Department’s current miserable state?

He was asked by a Stateman Reporter why clients of CPS had to sleep in CPS offices rather than in beds. Tom responded that he had never heard of that complaint. I wonder if Tom would like to speak to Louisa Jessop who slept on the floor of a CPS office 12 hours after giving birth in a shelter? When she DID finally get assigned to a “Foster home” as a child at age 23, she STILL slept on the floor with her baby!

More than a year ago, the “Home” for Mentally Retarded children was being used by the staff as a “Fight Club” for staff and the Legislature made it THE LAW to install camera’s in all facilities. When asked how many facilities were so equipped, Tom stated “One”.

If “The law is the law!”, then how come you didn’t open the Department’s wallet and install the camera’s Tom? Are you waiting for the law to be repealed, or do you need a few hundred rapes first?

With all due respect Tom, asking for an “Audit” of something you have been responsible for for the past 7 years is a little dis-ingenuous. If you don’t know why you haven’t done your job for the past 7 years, who will?

For 7 years you’ve been collecting a salery to run the finances in your Department. Do we have any hope that you’ll start doing your job now that you have the penthouse suite?

  1. “Freedom to practice ones religion” are pretty clear words. Darn it……the state is dodging every letter of the constitution to prevent a polygamy case from being heard by the SC.

I guess the Texas style bigamy laws are as close as we can get.

Our Supreme Court said polygamy was okay for those in Africa, but was odious for white people. That was long ago, but is still the law of the land. Nowadays, freedom of religion is just a line of BS we hand other countries. We live in a racist theocracy, where freedom of religion is reserved for those in power.

  3. I still think an audit by an independent, private corporation is the way to go. Of course, I doubt if this man would agree to it because it would show exactly where the money went. He wouldn’t be able to doctor the books.

  4. http://autos.aol.com/article/sho…-lights- revenue

This is off topic, but is interesting I thought. The gist of the article is that they found that lengthening yellow lights decreases accidents. So what do some Texas towns do? They shorten the yellow lights to increase traffic tickets to boost revenue. Another example of our government working for us.

It illustrates government does things for government, not for citizens.

  5. Cupcake: The jist of Bills comments pose the question, why does a man that led the finance department at an agency he is now in charge of need to audit that agency. The man was in charge of counting the money.

Could he just be closeing his own books to prove his honesty?

  6. Bill:

Since you have considerable knowledge about CPS and CASA’s shortcomings, may I suggest that you write a letter to this man yourself?

You know CPS and CASA’s shortcomings. It is very possible that this man does not.

Be polite. Be courteous. Be positive. Express all the concerns you wrote about in this article. Be sure to include your concern about how Louisa Jessop was mistreated. Ask this man what changes or improvements he plans to make. Do not use any words that are derogatory, offensive, or negative. In other words, be a perfect gentleman. But let him know you are watching him and will be critiquing his job performance. Then send it to him via certified mail.

  7. I think doing an audit is a good thing. How can he know where the money is going without a thorough audit. I also think the audit should be done by an independent, private corporation to minize the risk of state employees covering things up.

It is possible that no one filed a complaint about Louisa Jessop’s case. I think Louisa should submit a written complaint about the way she was treated and sent it to him by certified mail. Filing a complaint might help another woman who finds herself in a similar situation as Louisa’s in the future.

    Polygamous marriages should be legal.
    Homosexual marriages should be illegal.
The first produces children, the second
    doesn’t.

  10. Perry kinda had to pick someone from the inside. He needed someone to cover up this department’s screw ups. Do you really think this guy is going to admit Texas has problems?

As for an audit, it looks like the Feds already did one, why waste money doing another?
