MERRY CHRISTMAS TO THE FLDS AND OUR FRIENDS

It’s not that the FLDS do not believe in Christmas, they do. They just believe that it was impossible for him to have been born in December, since everybody knows that there would have been no shepards in the fields during December since it’s wintertime and nobody grazes their flocks in the Wintertime. It’s a little like our Government putting off the 4th of July if it comes during the middle of the work week.

Personally, I shoot off rockets on the 4th, whether the Government likes it or not, and if the FLDS want to celebrate Christmas on another date, I don’t think that makes them any less Christian than Russian, Greek and Eastern Orthadox sects that don’t celebrate it on the 25th of December either.

That said, I wish every one of them a Merry Christmas, especially the 33 children whom were made fatherless by the State of Texas with the persecution of Raymond Jessop and Allan Keate. Special too on my list are the children and familes of Barbara Jessop, Val Jessop and William S. Jessop, who were killed by the State as surely as if the goons pulled the trigger.

They have all paid a very high price for being Mormons, and we can only pray that the bigotry and persecution of these people ends soon.

From my house to yours, and from Texas to Canada, I have been proud and humbled to have come to know each and every one of you. I cannot imagine another group of people except maybe the Amish or the Mennonites that would have avoided a full scale blood bath for the attacks made against you and your Faith. In Maggie’s words; (NOT mine) “Forgive them Father, they know not what they do.”
FOR IDA AND MERILEE

  2. Don’t know what the FLDS are thinking, the weather in Bethehem at that time of year is good for sheep to be down in the valley floor. Average temp 13C, max range -1-27C est. (= 30°-80°F, Ave 55°F), The rainy season begins in October, so the grass should be green. The sheep should be out near the town, possibly on lower hillsides. The description given would only have the shepherds near the village Nov-Feb (the rains end in February, requiring the sheep to move up slope to find cooler and moister vegetation in March).

Fr. Most, of happy memory, gives theDate of Birth of Christ, tale of the stars summarized from E. L. Martin’s book.

  3. In all dire honesty I didn’t wage my joy as an insult or to cause harm to anyone. I said it so as people could be aware of another spiritual perspective during this season. I wanted to make viewers aware of this perspective so as interested or curious viewers could take advantage of the current energies. My bad!

That is exactly what the other side say’s so where is this going? I believe the focus should be on a “solution” rather than to continue focus on the problem.

  6. Dormette:

I am a person who truly enjoys learning about other religions and subcultures. I’ll enjoy reading about the Midnight Sun controversy.

  7. I apologize, but I do not subscribe to the “Bless them all” theory.

CPS, CASA, despot judges and corrupt politicians DEPEND upon people like the FLDs, Amish and Mennonites to take their crap and forgive all sins against them. I’m not FLDS, Amish or Mennonite.

I deeply respect people like Merrill Palmer, Mac and Winston Blackmore, Merril and Barbara Jessop, Maggie Jessop and Sarah Draper, but I relate more with people like Porter Rockwell or Willie Jessop.

    Those two, Texas understands.

I am all for forgiving my enemies; AFTER they have been held accountable for their “Transgressions”.

  8. I see that my post was deleted and then I read “spare me” Bill? I thought this blog was about the persecution and intolerance of people’s spiritual beliefs although it appears “nature based” beliefs are unwelcomed? The “Midnight Sun” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midnight_sun controvesy has been going on for century’s! Nothing new here……

    I will keep on trucking!

  11. My husband believes that Jesus was actually born in September. He says that it took the magi three months to follow the star to Bethlehem. He believes that Jesus was three months old when the magi presented their gifts to him.

It is interesting to learn how different religions celebrate Christ’s birth, isn’t it?

  12. Merry Christmas to you, too! Love the pics!

Our family doesn’t celebrate Christmas as Jesus’ birthday, either, but we like to have the tree, stockings, packages, and baked goods!

    Oh, and the songs.=)

  13. Merry Christmas to all!

I have happy news. This morning my daughter’s boyfriend proposed and gave an engagement ring to her. She said yes. We are so happy for them.

  14. If I know Maggie, she wouldn’t say those were her words, but give all honor and praise, to the who spoken them as he came from on high! Our Savior’s words…..and they (flds) doesn’t believe in Christmas, but they acknowledge the son of God who came to the earth, that all his children might have the chance to become like him.
