Pins,

I don't like going to that site either. The people who post there are a particularly nasty group who viciously attack anyone who disagrees with them.

I liked one woman posted there, even though I disagreed with her views. She claimed to be a Christian. I thought her views were based on her religion, as I know many traditional Christians hate Joseph Smith and Mormonism.

But then I got to thinking. Would a true Christian say nothing if she knew that her pals were doing something that was vindictive, spiteful or mean-spirited? My mother taught me that two wrongs don't make a right. If that woman thought the FLDS or the FLDS supporters had done something wrong, wouldn't a true Christian object if one of her pals did something wrong for revenge? The woman wasn't a true Christian. She was just as ordinary bigot.

If you were in a completely dark room with light outside, a person standing in the door would look very dark. The KSers are in the dark looking out at the light and everyone else looks very dark. Maybe they should walk out into the light before they judge (if only they would).

I don't want to say anything bad about Mary MacKert because I don't know the woman. I've never met her. I don't know anything about her except what I have read on the internet or in anti-FLDS books.

The Baptists believe that Mormonism is a cult. It does not matter if you are LDS or FLDS. They believe that all Mormon churches or sects are cults.

I know this because I used to live in Georgia. Many of my classmates were Baptists. When I told them I was a Mormon, they told me that Mormonism is a cult. They invited my family to attend their church. I thought what they said about Mormonism was insulting. I wasn't interested in converting to their religion, so I politely declined their invitation.

I have wondered if the same poster doesn't work for Carolyn's or Ellisa'a publishing company.

I don't want to offend Linda Lamb, but I am being honest.

When the state approved of using Baptist church buses to transfer the FLDS children, the state was indicating that the Baptist church was the preferred religion. Transferring children whose families practice one religion and placing them with families that practice a preferred religion is a form of genocide and is against the laws of the Geneva convention.

That is why I believe that the state should have chartered private, secular buses to transfer the FLDS children.

I am a mainstream Mormon. If the state forced my children on a Baptist bus, I would have thrown a screaming fit. I probably would have been taken to jail for standing up for my family's right to religious freedom.

Pins:

I think it is important for you to understand that not all of "gentiles" hate the FLDS. Some of us are tolerant and open-minded.

I'd like to "Poke them", but not quite with a stick.

I found this little piece cruising the archives. My good friend )(I hope), Linda Lamb says that I am after the Baptist's and there's no reason to be. I am not after all Baptist's, but there are a few I'd like to crucify.

This thing Mary Mackert comes from Canada. She couldn't make it in the FLDS, so she converted, and now wants everyone else to join her. I don't think so!

Leave those kids alone
If being separated from their mothers and put in foster care weren't bad enough for the FLDS kids, now the Baptists are trying to get their hooks in them.

Brian West at the Deseret News reports that Mary Mackert, a former FLDS plural wife born again as a Baptist, is doing her thing in Texas. Mackert is telling Baptist congregations:

" I am a missionary to the polygamous people. God called me to the FLDS. ... Not only did he save me, but he brought me to a point where I fell in love with my (FLDS) people and their need for the Lord."

Mackert is asking Texas authorities for all the FLDS kids they can deliver. A Baptist congregation in Fort Worth will buy her a house to care for them (read: convert).

First He's telling FLDS geezers to take multiple child brides, then He's calling loons like Mackert as Baptist missionaries. I wish God would figure out what he wants, then stay on message.

Now this is clearly a nutball lady, but even nuttier is the fact that the State of Texas actually agreed to hand over the children to the Baptist's.

They promised Arrow Children's Services to go out and hire a hundred people and put these kids on the adoption block to make millions of bucks.

Mary knew where to get the best reaction, and she went straight to the Baptist's.
